Busy bee...

Life has been so hectic this summer! Even though I'm not employed at this very moment, I seem to have the full time job of promoting myself.

Last week I was running around London attending interviews and fulling briefs, this weekend I was having the time of my life with my best friends and making new friends at Bestival (ok, so it's not promoting myself, but we all have to have to treat ourselves sometimes), and after two days of being at home in Devon I am back on my travels to London to illustrate at London Fashion Week and work Vodaphone London Fashion Weekend.

I am super excited to be apart of all the fashion chaos! I will hopefully be blogging every night, including illustrations I have done, street style, behind the scenes and my outfits of the day. So keep your eyes peeled.

What I wore to an interview in London last week, I love this colour of blue on brunettes.

Business cards ordered for next day delivery off Moo! As I'm seeking employment and am going to be surrounded by pretty much everyone that I want to work for, I would be an idiot to not try and promote and push my self as much as possible. Here is a preview of the cards I have ordered...

Moving on...

Yesterday was a very nerve-racking morning for me, it was the day my final university results were released. I have been super stressed this whole third year and put 110% of my effort and time into working my hardest to active a good grade to graduate with. The hard work paid off as I got awarded an Upper Second Class Honours degree (2:1) in Fashion with Promotion and Communication

Yesterday as a bit of a reward I got bought a weeks fashion illustration course at Central Saint Martins. Ekk... I'm very excited to be in the same building that so many of my fashion idols have studied at.
The course starts very soon so in the meantime I'm trying to squeeze in as much illustration practice as possible.

A career in Fashion

So today I have been feeling the stress of having finished university. I have been sat at my laptop all day and when not sat at my laptop I have been on my phone looking for job and work placement opportunities.

I have so much ambition and drive to succeed and I am eager for a placement or job which I can put this energy towards.

What would my dream job be? Probably to be a creative director or artistic director of a brand, company or magazine. I love conceptual and artistic work, my mother being an artist means I have been surrounded by art my whole life, so creative thinking comes very naturally to me.

Hopefully in the near future you will see blog posts from myself bragging about being offered a work placement or even better, a job.

Below is a little doodle I did while at my desk today of myself!

Final Major Project

I honestly do not know where the last three years have gone, uni seems to have whizzed by, yet it seems so long ago that I began my life at Southampton Solent.

I am passionate about fashion illustration and for my Final Major Project I asked "Why isn't fashion illustration used as a main promotion and marketing tool with in the industry?".  It was my aim to prove the point that fashion illustration still provokes emotion and can create a strong impact on its audience. I created briefs which were fulfilled by illustration, these illustrations were then exhibited at Re:So Gallery in Southampton as well as used in a brochure about the project.

All illustrations in the brochure are my own.
